Announcing an upcoming change to the RM6397 agreement, which we believe will be beneficial for both our NHS Workforce Alliance customers and suppliers.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who attended our customer and supplier webinar meetings in July 2025 and for providing such valuable feedback via the surveys.
Following these webinars and broader feedback, the NHS Workforce Alliance has decided to renew the current RM6281 National Framework for the Provision of Clinical Staff and the RM6277 Non-Clinical Staff as one new RM6397 framework. This will become known as RM6397 Clinical and Non Clinical Temporary and Permanent Staff. This means that the NHS Workforce Alliance, through Crown Commercial Service, will let a single framework for provision of all clinical and non-clinical roles.
The existing framework for the National Framework for the Provision of Clinical and Healthcare Staffing will end in June 2027, at the end of its third year, without utilising the optional one-year extension. This expiry date aligns with the expiry of the current Non-Clinical Staff agreement in April 2027.
The new RM6397 framework agreement will enable the NHS and the wider public sector to recruit temporary, fixed-term, and permanent staff for both clinical and non-clinical roles. This will be facilitated through employment agencies and employment businesses. Additionally, customers will have the option to appoint suppliers for a Managed Service Provision, covering both clinical and non-clinical requirements.
There’s a significant alignment between clinical and non-clinical staffing services in areas such as worker compliance standards, common pricing and services, relevant policy and overlap between supply markets. A unified framework approach will simplify the customer experience by allowing a single call-off contract to be awarded for all recruitment needs, and simplify bidding for suppliers.
Further details regarding the new framework will be provided during customer and supplier webinars in November.
Invitations to register interest for the webinars will be distributed after November 3rd, 2025.
