Learning and Development (L&D) is essential to ensure your staff have the skills and capabilities they need to deliver high-quality care. Investing in training is imperative to build a responsive future-proofed workforce that can adapt to the evolving needs of the NHS. This is more important than ever, which is why we developed the Learning & Training DPS as a trusted marketplace for NHS learning and development requirements.
Upskill and equip your workforce for the future
Our RM6219 Learning and Training Services Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) provides a flexible, agile procurement mechanism to directly upskill and equip your workforce to deliver on the core ambitions of the 10 Year Health Plan covering both tailored requirements and off-the- shelf common training needs including:
- Digital, data and AI upskilling
- Modernising staff training, replacing outdated mandatory training edicts
- Cross-sector skill alignment between primary, community, social care, and voluntary staff
- Coaching, Mentoring, and Leadership Development to support clinical leads transitioning into wider system management
- Meeting social value targets and commissioning hyper-local training initiatives
Digital, data and AI upskilling
The 10 Year Health Plan places major emphasis on making the NHS the most AI-enabled health system in the world, deploying ambient voice technology (“AI scribes”), single patient records, and digital triage tools. RM6219 enables NHS trusts and ICBs to source specialist training in Digital, Data, and Technology categories to build a digitally confident and capable workforce that meets the evolving needs of the health sector.
Modernise staff training, replace outdated mandatory training edicts
Aligned with the digitalisation of the NHS, the DPS features a service line for the design, supply, and integration of modern Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP). This directly supports the Plan’s vision to modernise staff training, replace outdated mandatory training edicts, and roll out digitally-led platforms for continuous, lifelong learning. The gold standard would be a universally accessible platform that standardises training across the health system, reducing duplication and delivering time and cost efficiencies.
Cross-sector skill alignment between primary, community, social care, and voluntary staff
Another key aim of the Plan is the shift from hospital to community-based care through integrated neighbourhood health teams. These teams will require cross-sector skill alignment between primary, community, social care, and voluntary staff. RM6219 provides ICBs with a route to commission bespoke and tailored training to equip health professionals with generalist, community-focused, and proactive care skills needed to support integrated, neighbourhood-based services.
Coaching, Mentoring, and Leadership Development to support clinical leads transitioning into wider system management
The Plan mandates new leadership models and contracts for GPs and primary care networks running single or multi-neighbourhood providers. RM6219 offers access to Coaching, Mentoring, and Leadership Development to support clinical leads transitioning into wider system management.
Meeting social value targets and commissioning hyper-local training initiatives
More generally, the 10 Year Plan aligns with the growing focus to increase working with Small-and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to help strengthen local economic growth and social mobility. RM6219 features an extensive ecosystem of UK SMEs and regional providers, allowing health bodies to meet social value targets and commission hyper-local training initiatives.
Suppliers can apply to join the DPS at any time
A key advantage of the DPS is that it remains open to new suppliers to join at any time. Therefore, if a suitable supplier is not already appointed on the agreement, you can encourage them to apply to join, and if successful, this will enable them to bid for your tender requirement.
How can we help?
Procuring training via the RM6219 DPS provides an opportunity to overcome challenges and supports streamlining and collaboration. With no minimum spend limits, a dynamic filtering system (location, delivery method, closed/open courses), and flexibility in contract durations, the DPS helps NHS organisations maximise value for taxpayers’ money while adapting training to meet the goals of the NHS 10 Year Health Plan.
